Morand Lambla Award

The Polymer Processing Society invites nominations for the Morand Lambla Award to honor an outstanding young researcher in the field of polymer processing. The late Prof. Morand Lambla, Past President of the Society, was a pioneering figure in our field who helped to develop and nurture many young researchers who have gone on to make major contributions to the field. This award aims to stimulate and recognizes originality, high achievement and potential for continuing creativity among young researchers in the science and technology of polymer processing related areas and thus to continue the goals of Prof. Lambla. Candidates can come from any part of the world and need not be PPS members. Further, they may currently be working in industrial, governmental or academic positions. To be eligible nominees have not completed their 45th year before Dec. 31, of current year.

Nominations are invited from members of the PPS and the polymer processing community at large. The nomination form (click here to download) should be completed in English. Application package must also include: a two page summary of the candidate's key contributions, a curriculum vita, copies of the most significant publications, patents and reports (up to 5) and supporting letters from each of the nominator and two co nominators who can evaluate the candidate's research. Where patents are used to support the application the nominators are asked to comment on the use and significance of them. (Co nominators representing various geographical regions will be an advantage).

The nominations will be judged by individuals from different regions and research fields and will be selected by the PPS Executive. The complete nomination package for each candidate (with all the above mentioned material) is due by December 31 of of current year and the decision on the award will be made in March, of following year.
